Fees
My thereapy fees are
- $166 per hour session
- $135 per 45 minute session
- $97 per 30 minute session
My assessment fees are
- $250 for the first assessment session if it is 1-hour in length
- $225 for the first assessment session if it is 45-minutes in length
If the assessment takes more than one session, any subsequent sessions are billed at the therapy rate. Assessment fees include a brief summary of the findings of the assessment and treatment goals.
Other report writing fees are billed at the therapy rates above. We will agree on an estimated cost range for the report before I write it.
Funding
Speech and language therapy services are not covered by OHIP. The following may be helpful information for you to maximize your access to the services you need.
INCOME TAX DEDUCTION
Keep your receipts! You can claim speech therapy services as a medical expense deduction when filing your income taxes.
PRIVATE INSURANCE
Funding may be available to you if you have private insurance. Contact your private insurance company to see if you have coverage for speech therapy.
STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE
If you are a university undergraduate or graduate student and have opted into the student health insurance plan you likely have some coverage for speech therapy. Check your student plan to find out the coverage you have.
EMPLOYER
Some employers will sponsor employees to improve communication skills that will have long-term benefit to the employee. You can check with your employer to see if they will support you with accessing funds for speech, stuttering, or reading and writing intervention.

Grants for families in need.
DISABILITY TAX CREDIT
The DTC is a non-refundable tax credit that helps people with disabilities or their support people reduce the amount of income tay they may have to pay.
Speech-Language Pathologists, medical doctors, and nurse practitioners can complete the speaking impairment section for the DTC. Learning disabilities may also qualify for the DTC and relevant sections could be completed by a medical doctor, nurse practitioner, or psychologist
CHILD DISABILITY BENEFIT
“The child disability benefit (CDB) is a tax-free monthly payment made to families who care for a child under age 18 with a severe and prolonged impairment in physical or mental functions.”
CANADA WORKERS BENEFIT
“The Canada workers benefit (CWB) is a refundable tax credit to help individuals and families who are working and earning a low income.
The CWB has two parts: a basic amount and a disability supplement.”
